The Willamette Valley in Oregon has a lot of commercial nurseries and farms where people can cut their own flowers. Tulips and daffodils are available in the spring, zinnias and sunflowers later in the summer, and dahlias in the fall. A lot more fun than buying them at the store.

The fish auction in Honolulu, Hawaii starts at 5:30 in the morning. The successful bidder will stick a piece of paper with the name of his or her business on the fish. Couple of hours later, the fish are delivered to the markets where the retailers will cut the larger fish into fillets.
