INTERNET SETUP WIZARD FOR WIN95 IE 4.0
Microsoft’s 4.0 browser, Internet Explorer, has a slightly different
Setup Wizard. If an Internet account has never been set up on the PC, opening
the Internet Explorer Icon will start the Setup Wizard. You can also start
the Wizard by going to Start | Programs | Internet Explorer | Connection
Setup Options - Choose the 2nd option. "I want to set up a new
connection on this computer to my existing Internet account using my phone
line or local area network (LAN)"
Setup Your Internet Connection
Connect using my phone line.
User name and Password
Advanced Options - Click "Yes" to set these options.
Your Hevanet email@example.com and password
IP Address - My service provider assigns one.
Connection Type - PPP
I don’t need to type anything.
Connection Name - change to Hevanet.
DNS Server Addresses - I always use the following:
DNS Server - 22.214.171.124
Alternate - 126.96.36.199
Say "Yes" to set up your Mail Account.
Email Server Names
Your Name - Your name as you want it to appear on the emails you send.
Email Address - your Hevanet email address.
Setup News Account - No
Setup Internet Directory Service - optional
POP3 - pop.hevanet.com
SMTP - mail.hevanet.com
Login Using - your Hevanet login name and password.
Friendly Name - Hevanet Mail
Internet Explorer 4.0 uses Outlook Express for Email. To check your
To start your Internet session, double click on the Internet Icon. You
will get a Connect To Hevanet window. Make sure you have your
Hevanet login name and password entered in the feilds. Note:
your password is case sensitive.
Internet Explorer will start as soon as you are connected.
