How to View and Forward Headers of an email message.

Microsoft Outlook 2000

Once you have opened the message you wish to forward, click on the View menu and select Options. Highlight the contents of the Internet Headers section at the bottom of this window and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Close out of this window. When you are back to the message to be forwarded, press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Microsoft Outlook Express and Internet Mail

Once you have opened the message you wish to forward, click on the File menu, then Properties. Click on the Details tab. Here you will see a bunch of text that probably doesn't make much sense. Highlight the entire contents of the window and press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Close out of this window. When you are back to the message to be forwarded, press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Eudora (all versions)

Open the message you want to forward. Press the Show All Headers button (it is at the top of the window and says BLAH BLAH BLAH). You will now see a large amount of text. Press the Forward button (or click on the Message menu, then Forward). Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Pegasus Mail

Open the message you want to forward. Click on Reader, then Show All Headers. Highlight the entire contents of the text that wasn't there before, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Press the Forward button. This will bring up a window that asks who you are forwarding the message to and it also has a couple check boxes. Type in the address of the person you are forwarding to and check Edit the message before forwarding. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Netscape Navigator

Open the message you want to forward. Click on Options, then Show Headers, and All. Highlight the entire contents of the text that wasn't there before, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Netscape Communicator

Open the message you want to forward. Click on View, then Headers, and All. Highlight the entire contents of the text that wasn't there before, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Claris E-mailer

Open the message you want to forward. Click on Show Original Headers. Highlight the entire contents of the text that wasn't there before, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Microsoft Exchange

Open the message you want to forward. Click on File, then Properties. You should see three tabs. Click on the Internet tab. Highlight the entire contents of the window and press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Close out of this window. When you are back to the message to be forwarded, press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.

Microsoft Outlook 97/98

Open the message you want to forward. Click on View, then Options. Under Internet Headers, there will be a large amount of text. Highlight the entire contents of the window and press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the C key. This copies the text. Close out of this window. When you are back to the message to be forwarded, press the Forward button. At the top of the e-mail, paste the copied text in by pressing Ctrl and V. Address the message as appropriate, compose the rest of the message as you like, and click the Send button.
