Time:Class times vary but most are from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The first night consists of sign-up and orientation. A parental release form must be filled out at this time for each student. The liability insurance coverage requires these forms. Consequently, a parent or legal guardian must attend the entire signup session.
The following 9 class nights cover: Ethics, Hunter Responsibility, Wildlife Management and Identification, Game Care, Firearm Safety, Bow hunting, Black powder, and Survival.
Students are graded in three areas:
Attitude. This includes: participation in class, the student's perception of the serious nature of the subject, completion of homework assignments, timeliness, attendance, and overall behavior. Skill. The student is expected to apply what is taught through safe handling of firearms and successful completion of an obstacle course. Knowledge. All students must pass a written test on the final class night
