Here is the summary of my morning dogwalks from NW Seblar Terrace to the Pittock Mansion for the week 04/25/13 to 05/01/13. Species neither seen nor heard the previous week are in ALL CAPS. Additional information about my dogwalk, including an archive of weekly summaries and a checklist, may be found at http://www.hevanet.com/winkg/dogwalkpage.html The sightings are also in eBird. We did the walk only 2 days this week, Apr 30 and May 1. This Friday, Lillian (the dog) and I will be leading another Morning Bird Song Walk at the Pittock Mansion.  These walks,  sponsored by Portland Audubon, are free and begin at 7AM at the  Pittock Mansion parking lot.  The walks last about 2 hours, but  you're free to leave whenever you need.  For further information  about this and the other Morning Bird Song Walks see http://audubonportland.org/trips-classes-camps/adult/walks Species                # days found  (peak #, date) Red-tailed Hawk             1  (1, 4/30) Band-tailed Pigeon          1  (4, 4/30) Anna's Hummingbird          1  (3, 5/1) Rufous Hummingbird          1  (1, 5/1) Red-breasted Sapsucker      1  (2, 4/30) Northern Flicker            2  (2) Pileated Woodpecker         1  (1, 5/1) CASSIN'S VIREO              2  (2, 5/1) Hutton's Vireo              1  (1, 5/1) WARBLING VIREO              2  (4) Steller's Jay               2  (1) Western Scrub-Jay           1  (1, 5/1) American Crow               2  (9) Violet-green Swallow        2  (6, 5/1) Black-capped Chickadee      2  (7) Chestnut-backed Chickadee   2  (3) Bushtit                1  (1, 5/1) Red-breasted Nuthatch       2  (5, 5/1) Brown Creeper               2  (3, 5/1) Pacific Wren                2  (2) Ruby-crowned Kinglet        1  (4, 5/1) Hermit Thrush               2  (2) American Robin              2  (11, 4/30) Varied Thrush               1  (1, 5/1) European Starling           2  (2) Orange-crowned Warbler      2  (3) Nashville Warbler           1  (3, 4/30) Yellow-rumped Warbler       2  (5, 5/1) Black-throated Gray Warbler 1  (5, 5/1) Townsend's Warbler          2  (15, 4/30) HERMIT WARBLER              1  (1, 5/1) Wilson's Warbler            2  (6) Spotted Towhee              2  (3) Fox Sparrow                 1  (1, 4/30) Song Sparrow                2  (10, 4/30) GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW      1  (2, 4/30) Dark-eyed Junco             2  (7) House Finch                 2  (8, 5/1) Pine Siskin                 2  (13) AMERICAN GOLDFINCH          1  (2, 5/1) In the neighborhood but not found on dogwalk (all fide Shawneen Finnegan and Dave Irons): Mourning Dove, Hairy Woodpecker, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, Purple Finch, EVENING GROSBEAK Misses (birds found at least 3 days during previous 2 weeks but not found this week--of doubtful significance owing to short week): Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Downy Woodpecker,  Bewick's Wren, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Lesser Goldfinch Wink Gross Portland
