Here is the summary of my morning dogwalks from NW Seblar Terrace to the Pittock Mansion for the week 8/30 to 9/5/01. Species in ALL CAPS were neither seen nor heard the previous week. While not unprecedented in our neighborhood (we had one in November, 1998), it was a nice surprise. I was interested to read Wilson Cady's and John Lawes' accounts of a warbler wave yesterday, 9/4. I did not find the same here, but may have finished my walk too early. The warbler activity definitely picked up this morning after 9:30AM. In the neighborhood but not detected on dogwalk: GREAT-HORNED OWL heard during the night of 9/1. No Robins this week! Wink Gross Portland winkg@hevanet.com
