Just a few notes about the making of "Mirage". I wrote, Produced, and directed it. I was also the Director of Photography. However, I didn't make the whole thing by myself. Eight of us went out to Burns, OR. and the surrounding area (including Diamond, French Glen, and the Steen's Mountain area) for two weeks to film it. Just eight of us. (and two of them were only there part of the time)

One of my idols in filmmaking has always been John Cassavettes. (Faces, Husbands, A Woman Under the Influence) Cassavettes is the original guerilla filmmaker. His concept was to have everybody involved in a project do everything that needed to be done. If you were an actor, you might also be hanging lights or holding the boom or even working the camera. Everyone was a "Filmmaker" and not sitting in a trailer waiting for there next part.

It was in this spirit that I set out to make "Mirage". And although there were just eight of us out there in SE Oregon, I want to acknowledge that there were many others who helped us in the production both here in Portland and out in the desert. But most of all I want to thank the seven others who went out there with me and worked tirelessly for months to make "Mirage" even remotely possible.

I also want to give special thanks to Eddie and Trish out in Burns who treated us like family and gave up their home to us. They are two of the coolest humans on Earth.
