Rifles that fire the .50BMG
Very few people have the opportunity to own, or even shoot, more than one or two of these rifles. I am no exception, so I make no recommendations on this page. (If you would like help picking a rifle, check the link on making the decision. This page exists simply to be a resource to those shopping for a .50 - if you know a manufacturer that's not here, feel free to email me and I'll add them. Presence on this page does not mean that I endorse the company.

Action Gun Works
makes custom .50 rifles, mostly for competition.
Accuracy International
makes one of the most expensive 'off the shelf' .50 cals.
ALRS
Makes a single-shot true bolt-action .50 BMG 'upper' for the AR15.
AMAC
Anzio Ironworks
A cool looking lightweight bolt-action .50.
Armalite
makes the AR-50. Well-known for its' extremely effective muzzle brake. A single-shot rifle that (apparently) turned out to be better than intended.
Barrett
Probably the best-known name in .50BMG (due to military usage) Barret makes a complete line including semi-autos, bolt-action repeaters, and bolt-action single shot rifles.
Bluegrass Armory
A new addition, Bluegrass makes a bolt gun similar in appearances to the Barret M99, and is promising a semi-auto shortly. Of particular interest, the semi-auto is touted as a 'gas-operated bolt-gun' and is claimed to have bolt-gun accuracy.
Cobb Manufacturing
Makes an interesting straight-pull bolt rifle, somewhat resembling an AR-type rifle. They call it the "Fast-Action 50". Other rifles are in development.
EDM Arms
Makes receivers, single shot, and repeating bolt-action rifles. The name comes from the EDM process used to perform the finish machining on the receivers. EDM's flagship model 96 'Windrunner' is a take-down model that contends for military use.
Spider Firearms
Makes the 'Ferret' .50 upper for the AR-15.
Gunmetal Designs
Produces plans for those aspiring to build their own .50 BMG rifle.
hyperDelivery Systems
Nice looking plans for both single shot and semi-auto .50 BMG rifles.
John's .50 BMG plans
An especially crude (IMO) looking .50 BMG - on the other hand, probably the easiest to build...
LAR
Makers of the LAR Grizzly .50BMG rifle. One of the first (relatively)inexpensive .50 rifles. It is a simple design, of the shellholder type.
Maadi Griffin
Plans and kits (used to be kits anyway...) for a .50 similar in appearance to the LAR Grizzly.
McBros
Makes an assortment of .50 rifles including Benchrest, sporter, and 'tactical' models. One of the most respected names in the business.
Mitchell's Mausers
Sells the 'Black Arrow' a 5-shot bolt action repeater.
MMAG
Sells the MMAG rifle, a .50 BMG upper for the AR-15 designed by Mark Serbu.
Safety Harbor Makers of the ultra-cool looking UltraMag50. A magazine-fed 'upper' for AR series rifles.

Serbu
Sells the 'BFG' and has a semi-auto in the works. Mark Serbu has taken the .50BMG market by storm and the BFG has rapidly become one of the most popular rifles. He is now working on a semi-auto rifle, as his time allows.

State Arms
Makes a number of .50 BMG rifles ranging from shell-holder types to traditional bolts.
TNW
Manufactures semi-auto versions of historically significant machine guns. Their flagship model is a semi-auto M2HB, or 'Ma Deuce' - the most enduring military firearm in US history.
Watson's Weapons
Builds single-shot .50 rifles and a .50 upper for the AR-15 rifles.
