THE WATER QUALITY ISSUE

One of the many stressed Squawfish (Pikeminnow) captured on Sept. 12, 1999 about 200 yards downstream from the proposed treatment plant location.  Seven out of eight fish caught had tumors and/or lesions.   For more pictures, click on the "Recent Stressed fish Pictures" bullet below.

On Nov. 15, 2001, the State of Oregon General Government Subcommittee of the Emergency Board  approved the Watershed Enhancement Board's request for $500,000 to fund a study of the toxins and the causes of deformed fish in the Willamette River.
