My adopted Beaver state has one of the nation’s highest unemployment levels and consistently ranks among the leaders in rates of hunger. Our residents with no health insurance have been on the increase for the last ten years with no end in sight. I’ve seen dirty-face kids in Portland rooting through trash for returnable cans.
