Using a Ricoh GR1 35mm Point and Shoot Camera

Ricoh Image This is an amazing little 35mm camera. It's completely automatic. The optics are 7 element/4 group aspherically ground and 28mm's in length. The film, focus, and exposure can all be set automagically. If one knows what they're doing (or at least believes they know) there are over-ride functions for exposure and focus. One can also control the lens aperture. The body is magnesium, slim, and very light. The thickest part of the camera is where the film and battery are held.

It's fun to take this everywhere. As I commented to a friend, I've done more photography in the past three weeks using this camera and a Rollei 35 than I've done using my 4x5 large format equipment in the past three years. If it's this easy to get a fabulous image, perhaps it's time to sell the LF stuff? {laugh}
